State appoints Orange Board of Elections
RALEIGH, N.C. – The Bipartisan State Board of Elections & Ethics Enforcement on Tuesday appointed four members to each of the 100 county boards of elections.
The State Board appointed two Democrats and two Republicans to each board. The names were chosen from lists provided by the state parties. These county board members will serve until at least June 25, 2019, or until their successors are sworn in.
At its April 3 meeting, incumbent board of elections members Kathy Knight, Bob Randall, and Jamie Cox welcomed Elvira Mebane to the Board. The Board organized and unanimously voted to appoint Jamie Cox as Chair, Kathy Knight as Vice-Chair, Bob Randall as Secretary, and Elvira Mebane as Member.
