A Proactive Approach to Winning in November (and the High Cost if We Lose)

We are in the homestretch (just under 90 days) of campaigning to win the re-election of President Trump, to elect Dan Forest for Governor, and win races for our NC Supreme Court candidates and NC Court of Appeals Judges.

We are taking a proactive 4-pronged approach to get out the Orange County vote:

  1. Canvassing neighborhoods using the Advantage Mobile app, which gives addresses of registered Republicans and unaffiliated voters, on Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 noon on August 8, 15 and 29th. If you are interested in canvassing with us, please sign up on the Volunteer page. Canvass participants on August 15 are invited with their families for a pool party and hot dogs following the canvass. RSVP to Kathi at 305-801-8793.
  2. Phone calling using Red Dialer, an automated phone dialing program that allows the user to reach a large volume of voters, important during the COVID pandemic restrictions. The program automatically dials a number for you. We have a short script you can share then it automatically goes to the next number.  Contact John Gaither, 336-314-1610, to get started.
  3. Volunteers needed to host get-together parties/gatherings (at their homes or at a restaurant) to build relationships with fellow Republicans with the goal of building a larger base of support and involvement. Contact Justice Payton, 919-709-8500, if you’re interested in hosting.
  4. Monthly OCGOP Zoom meetings (8/13, 9/10), and BBQ, Blue Grass, & the Bill of Rights event at the Exchange Club Park in Hillsborough on October 3, 12 to 3 PM. Tickets can be purchased on the event page or call Mike Kuhn at 919-933-4578,  Virginia Ferguson at 919-618-6430, or Waddy Davis at 919-259-8837.

The economy has had a setback with the COVID-19 resurgence in July.  Congressional Republicans are working hard to get Democrats to help support a second stimulus package.  We are optimistic that we will have a vaccine for COVID by the end of this year.

There is a high cost in not helping to get the Conservative vote out on November 3, 2020.  Here are a few of the pressing issues we face:

  1. Continuation of prosperity by Trump into 4 more years
  2. Breakdown of law and order (criminal justice, law enforcement/safe communities, 2A rights, peaceful demonstrations, 1st Amendment rights)
  3. Courts forming into political tools
  4. The corruption of national institutions (e.g., the FBI), and criminal use of Federal power targeting individuals (LTG Michael Flynn for example)
  5. Mass immigration, which is a threat to US workers, the environment and healthcare system (15-20 million illegals becoming legal citizens on Medicare and other governmental entitlements)
  6. Preferential treatment without discrimination given to people based on group characteristic rather than individuals. Includes race relations regarding Blacks, whites, Hispanics and others including Anti-Semitism.  Racism can refer to pejorative treatment of ANY group.  We need equality before the law for INDIVIDUALS.
  7. Protection of election integrity, which is opposed by both the courts and Democrats
  8. Education through school choice
  9. Other: strong national defense, fair trade practices, and government accountability
