Trump Derangement Syndrome

I have heard the term Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) several times to identify irrational behavior by otherwise intelligent people as it relates to President Trump. Most of the time I have dismissed it as a political statement to prod the left. However, in the case of James Comey, I can’t think of any other reason why a former director of the FBI would post “8647” on his social media feed. Of course, he said that he just happened upon the shell statement on the beach and had no idea what that meant. Yeah right!

During my career with the Durham police department, I had the privilege to attend the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA and graduate from the 253rd session of the academy. I worked with many FBI agents and found them to be hard working agents and very professional in their duties. It is this type of irrational behavior from what should be an otherwise intelligent law enforcement leader that makes it clear that TDS is a real thing. Comey and others suffering from TDS can continue to act and speak irrationally and we will simply respond that the border is closed with crossings at record lows, and prices are coming down on items that impact the people such as gas and eggs. Trade deals are being worked out to right the years of unfair trade practices, and sub-par male athletes can no longer compete against women.

When asked about revenge against his opponents on the campaign trail, President Trump stated that his revenge would be success. We are seeing success that is fully supported by most of the American people and driving Comey and others to TDS. I did not agree with most of president Biden’s policies, if they were actually his, but I never wished him personal harm. James Comey should issue an apology to president Trump and the American people for his post. It was beneath the office of a former FBI director.

I won’t hold my breath.
