In North Carolina, the statewide primary will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. During this election, voters can choose which candidates they prefer to be on the general election ballot in November. The purpose of a primary is to narrow the field of candidates for the general election. This election is also the election for members of the Orange County Board of Education. The Orange County GOP would encourage you to run for these offices, if you qualify.  Fling Fee is listed next to race.

Monday, January 17th, 2022 - County board of elections begin mailing absentee ballots for the 2022 statewide primary to eligible voters who submitted an absentee ballot request form. NC General Statue §163-227.10

Friday, February 11th, 2022 - Civilian voter registration deadline for the 2022 statewide primary ends at 5:00pm.
