Poll Observer Training

Want to learn about being a Poll Observer?

The goal of Poll Observers is to ensure a fair and open election by observing the voting process inside the polling place. If you can volunteer a few hours of your time to be a poll observer during Early Voting or on Election Day, you can do your part to help protect the vote and safeguard election integrity.

If you are new to poll observing, or want to learn more about it, the NC Election Integrity Team (NCEIT) will be offering in-person training as well as Zoom training sessions online.  Click on this link to visit their homepage, then click on the Join Us tab, and sign up as a member (it's free). You can look up their training schedule here.

Note that NCEIT will be offering in-person training at Durham GOP headquarters on Saturday, Oct. 3. All new poll observers are strongly encouraged to attend this session, as it is the most comprehensive training available. Cost is $15 to attend to cover materials and boxed lunch. Volunteers serving as poll observers for Orange County may request reimbursement for the cost after completion of the training. For more information or to sign up, click here. 

OCGOP is hoping to offer an in-person training session at the OCGOP Office for new observers or those who wish to brush up as the election nears. Please check back for information on the date/time of training sessions.
